It is now May 22 many things have been since March 7. I have got three new dresses. They are beauties, one of them is a pink and is white and the other is a dark pink. I have got a new pair of shoes too they are black. I haven’t got my new hat or my new coat yet. The hat Mama had last year I am wearing I trimmed it up with velvet and flowers it looks very pretty. Edna is all most all well now. Her father is very sick. Three weeks ago we went over to her grandmothers in the auto we had a dandy time. Mama was to the city that day she bought her a new hat and she had it trimmed down to. Mrs. Stubens and she didn’t like it so Dorothea and her have gone up to Union Hill to have it trimmed over. The measles have been around and most everybody has had them. I had them when I was two years old. I have been sick for two days now and Dorothea has been sick too. We think she is coming down with the measles. I haven’t been to school in two days now. The lessons are awful hard and Miss Worthing gives us so many.

Miss Worthing isn’t going to teach for another year she is going to the city and Miss Clark is going to California. I don’t want Miss Pierce next year but I think she is going to teach. Arbor day we had exercises then after the exercises they had fast ball, race and others game. I went with Nora Foster. We went in Miss Clarkes room for our exercises. Miss Worthing wasn’t there. I am mad at Mildred. I haven’t went with her in eight weeks. She is to big a liar and to nasty a girl. I am never going with her again. The G. A. R. are going to present us a beautiful flag to-day and all the school is going to be out. Decoration Day the whole school is going to march with flags in their hands lead by the band. We are going to buy flowers for the soldiers graves. No room in the school except the high school had a flag. All the rooms are going to put in and buy a flag for each room. Mr. Foster said that each room would elect the best scholar to lead their room in the parade all the kids wanted me. Joyce, Louise and me were voted on, I got twenty-one votes and Louise got eight and Joyce got six. Then the teacher said that I was going to be in so many things that if I wanted someone else then of course I said yes. It is almost time for school to let out the work is very hard. Bluah (?) Sellick has got their auto it is a big turing car. It is a beauty. Dorothea has had alot of rides in it. I haven’t had one. Mrs. Tucker made Dorothea a beautiful string of beads I love them. She is making me a string. They are very pretty. Mama ficks my (?)lavereer. I am going to wear it Sunday. Rose hasn’t been up hear since last winter Mama has wrote to her three times and hasn’t got any answer. She is ignorant. Fred is in Ithaca.

He has been their a long time. Allie has got in a bath and Frank has moved down to the lake. We are going to have our June play early this year before examinations May 28 & 29. We are going to hold it two nights. It is going to be next Thursday and Friday nights. The first five grades are going to have a play called Fairies of the Season I am in it and I am the fairy queen. I have 6 attendants, 2 trumpeters, 2 pages and 2 lady attendants. I am going to wear a long training dress with a crown and a beautiful throne to sit in. There are Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter fairies. They all sing and after and before I have to say something. I have got a long piece to say. It is going to be a beautiful play. I am the leading one. My piece follows:

Before the Spring Fairies.
Fairies all, my loyal subjects we have come tonight to sport and play and hold Fairy revel.
Spring is the time when the Earth is clothed again with flowers, leafy garlands- when birds build their nests and fill the woods with melody.
Fairies of Spring-time, we call you first, to sing your sweetest song.

After the song of the Spring Fairies.
Fairies of Spring-time, we thank you for your pretty song.
We now call upon the fairies of Summer to sing us their sweetest song.

After the song of the Summer fairies.
Summer fairies we thank you for your sweet song.

Before the song of the autumn fairies.
Autumn fairies yours is the season of Harvest when the farmer gathers in the reward of all his toil and lays by the stores for the coming Winter.
Will you sing us your song of joys of Harvest Time?

After the song of the Autumn fairies:
Autumn fairies we thank you for your song of Harvest home, yours is indeed a happy season.

Before the song of the Winter fairies:
Winter fairies yours is the season that brings Christmas to us- a time we all love.
Will you sing us your sweetest song?

After the song of the Winter fairies.
Winter fairies we thank you for your pretty song:
Dear friends our Fairy revels now are done,
And back to Fairy land we must be gone.
Before we go we have one word to tell.
One wish tis that we have pleased you well
With bright and pretty music, happy faces,
Songs from Fairy land or tuneful voices;
If this is so our dreams will all be bright.
We hope yours will be too, so wish you all "good night."

The space I left under Summer Fairies is something I have got to put in because there isn’t room for the fairy Dance. They had to change my piece and I have not got it yet.

The form is as follows:

The other play beginning with the sixth grade to the high school is called Gypsy Queen it is almost like our play only instead of fairies they are gypsies. Emma Martin is the queen. All the girls got mad because she is queen they wanted somebody else. Rachel Kennedy is the fortune teller. They say our play is going to be better.

I received a card last week and this was on it:

Ancient prayer
Oh! Lord Jesus I pray,
Thee bless us, keep us,
From all evil bring us
To dwell with thee, Amen.

This prayer was sent to me and is being sent all over the world. Copy it and see what will happen. It was said in Jesus’ time that all who wrote this would be saved and all who passed it by would meet with some misfortune. Copy it and send it to nine friends within nine days and on the tenth day you will receive some great joy. Send no name but date it was received. Do not alter prayer or break chain.
