It is now July 23, 1913, Wednesday. The parade is over and all the week they had the convention. The two parades were grand. The most beautiful parads you ever saw. I am now going to write my poem the name is ďBeautiful Little CarnationĒ. I will not write the poem down here but you will have to find the carnation. It will be written on beautiful white paper and in an envelope address ĎThe Beautiful Carnationí.
I will have to go back to the first part of the book because I started in the middle and I didnít know I would write as much as this. When I get this book full I wonít have to write another. This is all for to-day Iím going to write the poem.
The Elk Convention is over. We didnít go to the parade Tuesday Night. But we went Thursday morning It was the most beautiful parade I ever saw. It took two hours to pass and about three miles long. 10,000 men and 26 bands. All the bands played together there were floats the most beautiful you ever saw. We saw the parade on Alexander Street where all the rich people live. I wish to remember it all my life.
It is July 17 I havenít went to Ithaca yet. I have got Carnation in the cedar chest all done. I am going to write a poem then I will be all done until September. School begins 2 of September. Iím going to review my poems and learn some. Here is one that is so pretty I thought I would learn it. The poem will be written.
End of diary.
