Tuesday, October 2     Mr. London went home this afternoon.

Wednesday, October 3           Dr. Bradstreet of Irondequoit examined us to-day.  He is very tall and slim.  At least 30 and wears a tiny mustache.  The examination was very brief.  It rained to-day.  I am now wearing my hair parted in the center and two braids in back. It is down to my waist.  I am trying to make it grow.  I must look terrible, but who should care? And one does.

Thursday, October 4   It rained this morning.  My, but Miss Aline Post was a very angry woman when she returned to school this noon!  Deary me, but didn’t she give “Those Boys” (who are really terrible) a fine little lecture?  Well, I should say so!  They had been making a terrible noise all noon-hour and had dirtied up our entry dreadfully.  She threatened to send them to State Farm.  The thrasher (George Cooper) came this evening.  The fishermen have promised to help us (  ?  ).  The youngest one is very good looking and nice.
